Established over 30 years ago by H.H. Leonards-Spero, it was created as a haven for artists and a creative sanctuary for visitors.

This Victorian-style home is situated on a quiet street in the heart of Dupont Circle and encompasses five interconnected row houses featuring more than 100 rooms. The entire property is adorned with donated items and showcases numerous period details from the 19th and 20th centuries. Interestingly, nearly everything is for sale—except for the guitars signed by renowned musicians. The décor is vibrant and includes an eclectic mix of antiques and memorabilia that change frequently. Over the years, The Mansion on O has attracted heads of state, foreign dignitaries, business leaders, writers, artists, musicians, and scientists.

Non-Profit Organization and Museum

As a non-profit organization sustained primarily by donations, The O Street Museum Foundation fosters creativity through various programs, such as artist-in-residence, live concerts, workshops, and children’s programs. With over 100 rooms, 32 secret doors, 15,000 pieces of art, and 20,000 books, exploring the Mansion is a fascinating experience.
