Experience the Statue of Liberty from a Unique Hot Tub Boat Cruise

Hot Tub Boat Tours in New York City

I can’t speak for everyone living in New York, but the sight of the Statue of Liberty still makes me feel giddy. Each sighting serves as a reminder that I live in the center of the universe, in the city that never sleeps, and a rich, storied place that captivates people worldwide. Everyone who visits must take a moment to see it, and the best way to do it? Enjoying a hot tub on a boat cruising the Hudson River.

Experience the Unique Hot Tub Boat Tours

Yes, you read that right. You can embark on a hot tub boat tour to the Statue of Liberty, thanks to the New Jersey-based company Sea the City. Just a quick ferry ride from downtown Manhattan, Sea the City offers 90-minute cruises on a large boat featuring two hot tubs, each equipped with individual sound systems, coolers to bring your favorite beverages, and stunning views of Lady Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.

Comfortable and Refreshing Experience

Recently, with a special friend visiting NYC for the first time, it felt like the perfect opportunity to join the highly Instagrammable boat ride for a mid-July cruise. Like many, you might wonder who would want to sit in a hot tub in New York’s muggy July heat. However, fear not, the water temperature is lowered to 101 degrees Fahrenheit in summer, and once you’re cruising on the river, the outside temperature feels just right. If you do start to feel warm, simply rest your feet on the ledge and enjoy the refreshing breeze.

Creating Memorable Moments

Every moment in the hot tub boat became an Instagram-worthy opportunity, allowing us to reflect on the beauty of New York City. While conversations and rosé flowed, we snapped pictures of ourselves against the skyline, along with our hard seltzers and the Statue of Liberty. The crew was ultra-friendly and attentive, securing our drinks and pointing out hidden gems along the route. Other boats filled with tourists waved at us, adding to the delightful atmosphere.

Operational Details and Group Booking Options

Operating from mid-March to New Year’s Day, Sea the City provides an unforgettable view of NYC and offers a unique way to celebrate special occasions. The boat features two specially-built hot tubs, and you can reserve by the tub or the entire boat. Each tub can hold up to 8 people for semi-private bookings, but if reserved privately, they can accommodate up to 10. Moreover, the boat is overseen by a United States Coast Guard licensed Master Captain, ensuring a safe experience. Conveniently, there are changing facilities and restroom access at the Jersey City marina.

Pricing Information

Tours on Sea the City’s hot tub boats start at $449 for semi-private bookings, with prices increasing during weekends. Therefore, for a weekend booking, the cost rises to $999 for semi-private or $2,499 for a private booking. If you divide the total by a group of eight, the expenses can align with a nice dinner or a visit to one of NYC’s charming tourist attractions.

A Favorite Experience Among Many

As an experiences editor, I’ve been fortunate to partake in numerous special activities, from enjoying a spa treatment after hiking the Great Wall of China to sipping cocktails mid-air at 35,000 feet. However, I must say, this hot tub boat experience ranks among my all-time favorites. Additionally, keep an eye out, as Sea the City plans to launch operations in Miami this December, offering year-long fun.
