Jagged Little Pill Cast Unites for Frontline Workers
Although their musical had to pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cast of the Broadway musical, Jagged Little Pill, joined forces virtually to perform a song in tribute to frontline workers.
The musical, which debuted in December 2019, showcases the lyrics and songbook of Alanis Morissette, featuring music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Pulitzer Prize-winner Tom Kitt. This original narrative of suburban rebellion was crafted by Academy Award-winning writer Diablo Cody. As part of “Stars in the House,” the live-streamed concert series created by SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky and producer James Wesley, the cast performed Morrissette’s poignant song Thank U.
This daily series, which launched on March 16, serves to support The Actors Fund and its vital services during these challenging times. Rudetsky engages performers in conversation while encouraging donations, and Dr. Jonathan LaPook frequently provides expert guidance about COVID-19. Following their performance, the Jagged Little Pill cast shared the video on their channel, expressing gratitude with the message: “To those on the frontlines: our world is changing, and you inspire us all to change with it for the better. Thank you for everything you’ve done—and for all that you continue to do—on behalf of all of us at Jagged Little Pill.
New episodes of “Stars in the House” air daily at 2 PM ET/8 PM ET, featuring performances from beloved stage and screen actors. Notable participants have included cast members from the iconic ABC series Desperate Housewives, including Marcia Cross, Dana Delany, Eva Longoria, and Vanessa Williams.
