James Bond 25 Filming in Gravina in Puglia, Italy

The 25th installment of the James Bond franchise will spend two months this summer filming in a small town in the south of Italy.

Come July and August, the Italian town of Gravina in Puglia will be overrun with film crews, actors, and (we’re assuming) a fleet of Aston Martins.

“After recently hosting the latest films of Sergio Rubini, Matteo Garrone, and Checco Zalone, we’ll now find ourselves face to face with James Bond, an unprecedented opportunity for which we have been working for months,” Alessio Valente, the mayor of Gravina in Puglia, told Corriere Della Sera.

The town of Gravina in Puglia is famous for its ancient Roman structures, including a two-level bridge that runs across the river and several cathedrals and churches.

Earlier this year,Bond was shooting in Matera, Italy for what is expected to become the film’s opening sequence (similar to the epic Day of the Dead sequence in Mexico City that opened the “Spectre” film).

The film does not yet have a name and is only being referred to as “Bond 25.” Cast for this Bond film include Rami Malek, Naomie Harris, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, and, of course, Daniel Craig.

Filming has already begun in London, where Craig was spotted walking around the city with a cut on his lower lip.

The film is due to be released in early April 2020.
