Jeep is significantly advancing its commitment to electrification, vowing to offer hybrid versions of every model by 2022. This green revolution is accelerating this year, with the automaker confirming the rollout of plug-in hybrid versions of its flagship models, including the Wrangler, Compass, and Renegade.

The electrified vehicles will carry the “4xe” badge, representing Jeep’s dedication to electric mobility. Performance Expectations

Historically, Jeep has indicated plans for a plug-in hybrid Wrangler since 2017. Moreover, during the previous year’s Geneva Motor Show, they showcased Euro-spec versions of the Compass and Renegade equipped with a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. This powertrain enables the Renegade plug-in hybrid to achieve impressive performance metrics, accelerating from zero to 60 mph in approximately seven seconds, generating a robust 240 horsepower.

Although detailed U.S. specifications such as fuel economy metrics are still under wraps, Jeep is making substantial promises for its upcoming electric vehicles.
