There are numerous reasons to plan a trip to Las Vegas: casinos, resorts, shows, and a grocery store like no other.
This isn’t your average grocery store; it’s an out-of-this-world experience conceived from a psychedelic vision.
Omega Mart, created by the Santa Fe-based arts and entertainment company Meow Wolf, is a permanent installation at AREA 15, Las Vegas. Ticket prices start at $49 for general admission and $45 for children, seniors, and military personnel.
Combining a rich narrative with mind-blowing art and music, Omega Mart is a unique installation that transforms an ordinary supermarket into a surreal experience reminiscent of H.P. Lovecraft’s tales.
The experience is divided into four distinct areas featuring over 60 unique environments, themed rooms, terrains, and portals to other worlds. More than 300 creatives, artists, and musicians, including Beach House, Brian Eno, Amon Tobin, Shrine, and Android Jones, contributed to this imaginative storytelling journey.
The first area, Omega Mart, resembles a large grocery store filled with whimsical products like Wake Up Please! Energy Drink, Whale Song Antiperspirant/Antidepressant, Nebula Loaf, and Americanized Beef. Many items are actually available for purchase, offering a unique souvenir experience.
The second area, Dramcorp, is a Tron-inspired realm where guests can explore the fictional corporation behind Omega Mart. This area includes a complex labyrinth for guests to discover.
On the third level, visitors can explore the Factory, a multi-level playground showcasing Dramcorp’s “mysterious operations” behind Omega Mart’s unique products.
In the final area, known as The Projected Desert, guests are immersed in video projections that transport them through a “high-desert box canyon into vibrant psychedelic realms and transcendent environments.”
According to the website, “This sprawling space features a 20-minute psychedelic journey filled with intricate projections on massive rock walls over 30 feet high, adorned with hundreds of pounds of glitter.”
Attention to detail extends to every corner of Omega Mart, including the artistically designed bathrooms and several hidden passages and portals scattered throughout the installation. The exhibition even boasts a secret watering hole, the Datamosh Bar, where guests can indulge in classic cocktails with unique Omega Mart twists like the “Meowjito” and “Old Fashioned Spray.”
Visitors can spend their time soaking in the artwork or engage interactively with the installations using optional Omega Access RFID cards at video points for even deeper insights about Omega Mart and Dramcorp. Furthermore, several consumable products, including Zalg (which tastes like apple cider) and Omega Cola (a signature cream soda), offer an exhilarating tasting experience.
This grocery shopping adventure is unlike any other—it’s a revolutionary experience that we are sure will leave a lasting impression.
