Explore Lefkada: The Hidden Gem of the Ionian Islands
16 July 2024
Specifically known as “Lefkas”, Lefkada is uniquely accessible without the need for ferries or boats. You can simply drive over a causeway from Prevaza Airport on the mainland. This part of the Ionian Islands is characterized by its mountainous and densely forested landscapes, providing welcome shade during the hotter months. Additionally, Lefkada features breathtaking beaches that remain relatively quiet outside the peak summer season, making it an ideal getaway compared to the more crowded and commercialized Greek islands. With no international hotel chains in sight, it feels like a well-kept secret—perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Lefkada is also a convenient gateway to visit celebrity-favored Meganisi, home to Fish Taverna Errikos, a great lunch spot.
