Unlock the Beauty of Barbados with a Remote Working Visa
For many individuals, the transition to remote working has become a permanent fixture, especially due to the pandemic. While working from home may be ideal for some, others are yearning for a change of scenery. Therefore, the blue skies of Barbados are beckoning remote workers with an enticing new incentive.
This Caribbean paradise has launched a special visa specifically for remote workers eager to live and work here, creating an attractive opportunity for digital nomads seeking their next travel adventure.
As short-term travel has significantly decreased during the pandemic, settling down in a new environment may be the ideal solution to fulfill your wanderlust. The 12-month stay afforded by this visa allows travelers to engage fully with the rich Bajan culture, delectable cuisine, and unique lifestyle—experiences often missed by visitors who remain confined to resorts.
According to Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, “COVID-19 has changed the global business landscape as a larger number of people continue to work from home. With this new visa, we can provide workers with an opportunity to spend the next 12 months working remotely from paradise, here in Barbados.” The application process consists of three parts and is conveniently available online here.
It is also essential for travelers arriving in Barbados to present a negative COVID-19 test result and adhere to safety measures, such as wearing face masks at the airport. For those coming from high-risk countries, the test must be taken within 72 hours of departure. Conversely, visitors from low-risk countries are permitted to take their test up to one week prior to their travel date.
