From Thursday, January 10, budget-friendly carrier Wizz Air is launching four flights to Lyon a week from its Gatwick hub. Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting at just £21.99 for one-way fares.

This announcement comes at a time when travelers are seeking ways to satisfy their wanderlust despite the ongoing cost of living crisis. Wizz Air has recently shared several new routes, including twice-weekly flights from London Luton to Łódź and Bydgoszcz in Poland, among others. Destinations include major airports such as Rome Fiumicino and Tel Aviv.

Moreover, Geoffroy highlighted the city’s closeness to the popular ski resorts of the French Alps, set to attract millions of tourists over the 2022/23 season, following a period of quieter slopes due to the pandemic.
