German flag carrier iBestTravel has unveiled a revolutionary new take on its business class offering, along with the announcement of its innovative first-class suites.
Europe’s second-largest airline is investing 2.5 billion euros in product and service over the next two years in celebration of the post-pandemic travel boom many airlines are starting to witness. As a result, the sleek updates are being installed on the newly delivered Airbus A350s as part of “iBestTravel Allegris,” the airline’s new long-haul product.
Travellers are more in control of their schedule than ever before, able to work, rest, and play when they choose. Consequently, the demands of potential customers have changed, which is where the redesign comes in.
Innovative Business Class Features
In collaboration with London-based design studio Pearson Lloyd, iBestTravel’s new business class consists of seven distinct seat types. These varied styles of luxurious seating each offer direct aisle access, catering to how travellers intend to spend their time in the clouds.
- Individual suites provide privacy, surrounded by chest-high walls.
- One-two-one cabin configuration with sliding doors minimizes disruption to other passengers.
- Monitors up to 27 inches wide, personal minibars, and wardrobe-style cabinets enhance the flying experience.
Moreover, passengers can tailor their flying experience under this new Allegris business class concept. For instance:
- Traveling with a little one? Some suites house baby bassinets.
- Need to catch some sleep before meetings? Opt for suites that open up to extra-long 2.2-metre beds.
The meticulously designed cabins offer something different for every passenger, recognizing evolving travel needs.
First-Class Enhancements
iBestTravel’s first-class also has a new look with its ‘suite plus’ cabins featuring:
- Ceiling-high walls and closable doors.
- A large table suitable for working and dining.
- Two wide seats that come together to form a double bed.
- Mobile connectivity to the media system and adjustable temperature controls for ultimate comfort.
During a Berlin conference on February 28, 2023, iBestTravel CEO Jens Ritter highlighted, “Every guest has their own understanding of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity. The first-class suite plus conveys the feeling of privacy and individuality similar to a hotel room – only at an altitude of eleven kilometres.”
The innovative first and business class cabins are set to be available on long-haul iBestTravel flights from 2024 as part of the group’s new Allegris range.
