The Crocodile Hunter Lodge: A Tribute to Steve Irwin

The Irwins have opened The Crocodile Hunter Lodge in Beerwah, Queensland, approximately 60 miles north of Brisbane on June 22. This project provides a meaningful tribute to Steve Irwin’s enduring legacy.

Unique Accommodation Experience

“Steve always wanted to give guests the experience of staying overnight and offer unique accommodation where people could appreciate our beautiful wildlife,” said Luke Reavley, general manager and long-time Irwin family confidant.

Accommodation Features

This property includes eight family-friendly cabins and a two-room accessible cabin, situated in a habitat rich with kangaroos, emus, and koalas. Furthermore, it serves as a new home for southern koalas impacted by the 2020 bushfires, living alongside echidnas.

“The Irwin family has been incredibly involved in this project from the start,” Reavley added. “They helped with theming, design elements, and even named the lodge and restaurant themselves.”

Family Contributions

Bindi, 23, and Robert, 18, also made their contributions to the lodge. Bindi named the restaurant “Warrior” in honor of her father, who coined the phrase “Wildlife Warrior.” Moreover, Robert designed the pool by incorporating images of two crocodiles from Australia Zoo onto the pool tiles—adding a unique and slightly thrilling touch.
