Luxury Resort on Seven Mile Beach: Discover the Caribbean’s Largest Suite

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman: A Stunning Transformation

Since 2006, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has stood prominently on the island’s renowned Seven Mile Beach. The resort features Blue, a restaurant by the celebrated chef Eric Ripert, a La Prairie Spa, a golf course designed by Greg Norman, and the Caribbean’s largest luxury suite. This destination is a favorite among discerning travelers. When the pandemic paused international travel, the resort’s ownership and management seized the opportunity to reimagine the property.

Marc Langevin, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, explains that, “Our forward-looking ownership group, Dart, invested heartily into our treasured property, the results of which will now be visible for guests to enjoy. Seeing the pause in travel as an opportunity, we are grateful that Dart took advantage of this time to expand the original renovation plan, manifesting a cohesive and modern property suited to the demands of today’s most sophisticated travelers. Working alongside the talented team from Champalimaud, we have together created a resort, which though virtually brand new, maintains the charm of the beloved original.”

Champalimaud’s Design and Décor

Champalimaud Design, a well-known studio based in New York, was tasked with creating a refined design that reflects the Cayman Islands’ history and natural beauty. The interior decor features shades of blues and greens, inspired by the surrounding water and lush vegetation, complemented by elegant neutrals, textured elements, and polished wood. This design elegantly merges the classic British West Indies style with modern Cayman artwork and rich textures.

Guest Rooms and Suites Renovation

The guest accommodations at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman are characterized by custom-designed wall coverings and furnishings, with every room featuring a private balcony. The furniture and decor elements, crafted from rich, textured wood, pay homage to the island’s colonial past, while textured wall coverings, such as sea-shell patterns, evoke the island’s natural splendor.

The Lounge features some of the Caribbean’s finest offerings, including hand-rolled cigars and rare rums. The resort is renowned as a spectacular wedding venue, and the ballrooms have been elegantly renovated in shades of off-white.
