Searching for Dawn Habash in Nepal
Yasmine Habash is on a heart-wrenching journey in Nepal, searching for her mother, Dawn, who was hiking in the hard-hit Langtang region during a catastrophic earthquake. This situation has drawn attention to the intense struggles families face during natural disasters.
Your Adventure Awaits
The adventure-loving Dawn Habash, 57, began venturing out into the world solo at age 19, becoming a source of inspiration for her children to explore and experience diverse cultures. Yasmine and Dawn shared a strong bond not just as mother and daughter but as the best of friends. They traveled every year to India in search of harmony and peace.
Journey Highlights
The last trip that Yasmine and Dawn undertook took them through the western Indian state of Rajasthan, up to Dharamsala, the capital of the Tibetan government in exile, as well as to Hindu holy cities like Haridwar and Rishikesh.
Family Efforts
In their quest to find Dawn, Yasmine and her brother, Khaled, have reached out to numerous individuals who may have seen their mother in Nepal. They connected with an Italian woman who captured breathtaking photographs of Dawn just a day before the earthquake struck.
Community Support
To further support their search, Yasmine and Khaled created a Facebook page and a GoFundMe campaign. They received assistance from a Langtang Missing/Found People site, which greatly aided them in reconstructing their mother’s path during this challenging period.
Inspirations and Experiences
Khaled has openly shared that, inspired by his mother, he has traveled to more than 50 countries. This legacy of exploration embodies the spirit of adventure that Dawn instilled in her children.
Courage and Hope
Yasmine remains determined in her search, distributing family photos in the community while harboring hope that these efforts will help locate Dawn. The resilience shown in the face of adversity is a powerful testament to their unwavering bond as a family.
