Miami’s Art Deco District is becoming even more attractive with the opening of the Moxy Miami South Beach, which is the brand’s very first “resort-style” property.

Lightstone, the developers behind three Moxy hotels in New York City, designed this chic and playful hotel in South Beach, celebrating everything that Miami has to offer. Thanks to its prime location near landmarks such as the Miami Beach Convention Center, Wolfsonian-FIU Museum, and Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, it is truly at the center of it all.

“Opening the hotel during this unprecedented time presented Lightstone with a unique challenge,” stated Mitchell Hochberg, Lightstone’s president. “Moxy South Beach isn’t merely a reaction to the pandemic; it feels like an antidote to it.”

Hochberg further explained that the design of the new hotel “anticipated the needs of the current environment, accommodating what people seek nowadays: contactless check-in, outdoor spaces, and a do-it-yourself vibe. Nonetheless, we have remained faithful to the Moxy brand roots, allowing guests to curate their own experiences while they escape reality for a few days in South Beach — all at an appealing price point. This concept has a timeless allure.”

The hotel’s interiors, crafted by the Rockwell Group and Saladino Design Studios, facilitate guests’ ability to “socialize on-demand” due to the seamless blend of open-air spaces with indoor areas. Each public space includes private and semi-private enclaves — such as poolside cabanas, open-air meeting studios, and secluded dining tables — allowing guests to choose their level of interaction.

The indoor-outdoor areas encompass a fitness center inspired by nearby Muscle Beach and an outdoor movie screening room on the rooftop. Additionally, the hotel features a sprawling 72-foot, cabana-lined pool located on the second-floor terrace. Swimmers can enjoy a unique experience by peeking down into the lobby through an eight-foot, see-through cutout at the bottom of the pool. Moreover, there is a shallow lounging pool with submerged chaise lounge chairs on the rooftop.

And that’s just the shared spaces. The hotel boasts 202 rooms, including king, double queen, or quad bunk setups, along with residential-style suites, each decorated in vibrant colors reflecting the lively city outside.
