New Boutique Hotel in Nantucket: Blue Iris
Nantucket is welcoming a brand-new boutique hotel just in time for summer. Blue Iris, a 12-key hotel located in the heart of Nantucket, is set to open its doors in the coming months, offering a delightful mix of luxury and comfort.
Luxury Amenities Offered
According to Jason Brown, a managing partner at Blue Flag, the hotel’s owner, “We are excited to open our doors to guests this summer in this beautifully restored property in the heart of Nantucket’s historical district. This quiet and upscale hotel will be a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle just steps away.”
Design Inspiration and Decor
Each of the hotel’s oversized suites and single-family hotel rooms exudes a seaside flair. Furthermore, the patio garden features a Mediterranean-inspired tiled fountain adorned with the hotel’s namesake flower, the Blue Iris. Inside, guests will discover plush furnishings paired with soothing ocean hues, which contribute to a tranquil getaway atmosphere.
Brown also states, “We chose furniture, fabrics, and materials designed to relax and enliven the experienced traveler — a soothing coastal color palette, a custom Murano iris-glass chandelier in the entry, Portuguese-inspired textiles and tiles, well-worn brass accents, and artfully painted brush strokes on the walls of the halls that guide you to your room; all housed in the historical context of this beautifully restored vacation estate on Hussey Street.”
Opening Details and Rates
The hotel is anticipated to open in May 2022. Rates for a king room start at $450. If you are considering a getaway, you can plan your visit after April 15, when bookings become available.
In anticipation of the opening, those unable to wait might explore accommodations at Blue Flag’s Faraway, known for its chic ambiance and coastal decor. Guests can enjoy the lively restaurant Sister Ship or relax on the terrace, soaking in the vibrant island life offered during spring and summer. More details about Faraway can be found here.
