New 2025 Bentley Bentayga: Less Ugly, More Infotaining

2021 Bentley Bentayga – Luxury Redefined

The 2021 Bentley Bentayga has successfully distinguished itself from the Audi Q7 with its striking new design and luxurious upgrades. The latest architecture features fresh front and rear styling, highlighted by Continental-style taillamps. Enthusiasts lucky enough to experience the new Bentayga will enjoy all-new seating options, sophisticated interior trim, standard wireless Apple CarPlay, and an enhanced infotainment system.

All-New Powertrains and Availability

The 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8 is set to hit U.S. markets this fall, followed by the eagerly anticipated plug-in hybrid and powerful W-12 Speed variants. The launch of the 542-horsepower twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine promises exhilarating performance. Notably, versions of the plug-in hybrid and the 626-horsepower W-12 Bentayga Speed will follow shortly thereafter.

“We’ve listened to our customers and made improvements to the areas most important to them,” states Bentley CEO and chairman Adrian Hallmark.

Since the Bentayga’s debut in late 2015, over 20,000 units have been sold worldwide, making it the best-selling luxury SUV in its class, as claimed by Bentley.

Bentayga’s New Front-End and Tail, New Wheels

The mid-cycle facelift presents a completely reimagined front design, showcasing elliptical headlamps designed with a cut crystal aesthetic that “sparkle even when not lit,” complemented by a more upright grille. The headlamps offer three different low-beam levels depending on driving speed, enhancing both functionality and style.

In addition to a lengthened vent above the sculpted power line on the vehicle’s side, there are two new 22-inch wheel designs available in two finishes, expanding the total choice to five unique designs from Bentley.

At the rear, the redesign includes a full-width tailgate and third-generation Bentley elliptical taillamps styled in a lattice pattern—a change that clarifies the distinction from its platform sibling, the Audi Q7. The license plate has been relocated from between the taillamps to the rear bumper, further refining the vehicle’s appearance.

Interior Enhancements of the 2021 Bentayga

Significant upgrades can also be found inside the Bentayga, such as a new steering wheel and redesigned seat and door panels. The newly designed second-row seats now provide double the recline angle along with optional ventilation, enhancing passenger comfort.

Moreover, the four-seat configuration offers increased knee room, providing an additional 1.18 inches when upright and 3.93 inches while reclined. Each seating layout features newly sculpted shapes, fresh seat cover designs, contrasting stitching, and hand-stitched details, further elevating its luxury appeal.

Advanced Technology Features

The 10.9-inch center touchscreen is more advanced than ever, boasting higher resolution, brighter display capabilities, and anti-reflection treatment. Physical keys situated below the screen provide additional ease of use. Customizable screens allow drivers to tailor their information display easily, with navigation, phone, or media options readily accessible.

Furthermore, the new navigation features three-dimensional building displays, satellite imagery, and advanced head-up display content, enhancing overall driver awareness and experience. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard, and an embedded SIM card eliminates the need for a mobile data connection inside the vehicle.

Comfort Enhancements for Backseat Passengers

Passengers in the back seat benefit from a sizable remote touchscreen tablet, mirroring the technology found in the latest Bentley Flying Spur. This upgraded device presents modern graphics and improved processing capabilities, enriching the user experience.

Moreover, the updated digital instrument panel closely aligns with the style seen in the Continental GT and Flying Spur series. The Classic format displays essential driving metrics, while the Expanded format integrates navigational maps and media information directly into the display.

Performance and Dynamic Control

The upgraded rear track has been increased by 0.78 inches, leading to improved dynamics thanks to the Bentley Dynamic Ride system—an innovative electric anti-roll control technology. This system effectively counteracts lateral forces, ensuring that tire contact with the road remains optimal, thus enhancing overall ride comfort and handling.

Fuel Economy and Pricing Information

The engine specifications for the 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8 remain unchanged from previous iterations, so the fuel economy is expected to maintain an EPA estimate of 14/23 mpg in city and highway driving. Pricing for the Bentayga V8 is projected to start around $175,000, positioning it firmly in the luxury SUV market.
