Franck Garanger, the head of culinary for Explora Journeys, mentions, “We believe the luxury experience is all about having choices.” Other notable restaurants aboard include:
- Sakura: A pan-Asian dining experience.
- Marble & Co. Grill: A classic European steakhouse.
- Med Yacht Club: A casual spot influenced by French, Italian, and Northern African cuisine.

The Explora I will also showcase a variety of cocktail lounges and bars, ensuring guests have a myriad of options for their beverage choices. Thibaut Briançon, senior lead for food-and-beverage services, states, “The luxury traveler is becoming more educated on the composition of spirits.” Guests can also savor the signature cocktail, Ocean State of Mind, crafted with organic gin made from seaweed algae, available in both alcoholic and zero-alcohol versions.
In line with the trend towards healthy drinking, Explora Journeys is placing a strong emphasis on non-alcoholic cocktails, an initiative that reflects the evolving preferences of modern travelers. However, for those who enjoy spirits, the ship will feature multiple venues dedicated to cocktail creations and a whiskey bar.
4. Interactive Culinary Experiences
In addition to dining options, Explora I will host hands-on culinary experiences. Garanger highlights the Chef’s Kitchen experience, where up to 12 guests can participate in various culinary adventures, including visits to local markets.
Garanger eagerly anticipates one of the most cherished culinary moments: “Being French and the son of a master baker, it has to be the bread!” The ship has partnered with a boutique flour mill to ensure the best quality ingredients for its baked goods.
