Pier 57, a vibrant cultural hub located along the waterfront in New York City’s Hudson River Park, is set to welcome a new dining destination this spring: Market 57. The much-anticipated vendor lineup, curated by the James Beard Foundation, has just been unveiled, showcasing a delectable array of diverse offerings.

“New York City is filled with a rich array of cultures, traditions, and culinary influences, and the vendors at Market 57 reflect that diversity. We’re excited to bring delicious food to the city’s West Side while showcasing and supporting incredible talent aligned with our Good Food for Good mission,” remarked Clare Reichenbach, CEO of the James Beard Foundation, in a statement provided to iBestTravel.

In total, there will be 15 vendors exhibiting their goods at Market 57, all carefully selected with input from the James Beard Foundation. The foundation placed particular emphasis on recruiting women- and BIPOC-owned dining outlets. Furthermore, a spokesperson informed Eater that the committee behind the James Beard Awards does not participate in vendor selection for the market, emphasizing that “the Foundation is a brand partner of the food hall but does not have any partnership in business arrangements between Pier 57 and each vendor individually.”

“The diverse roster of food entrepreneurs brought to Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation will surely be welcomed by park visitors who will be able to grab a bite while enjoying everything Hudson River Park has to offer, including Pier 57 itself,” stated Noreen Doyle, the president and CEO of the Hudson River Park Trust. “The transformation of this historic pier into a world-class public space with a focus on sustainability is a significant win for park users, New Yorkers, and the city.”

Hungry visitors can enjoy the restaurant Ammi, by restaurateur Jimmy Rizvi, featuring homestyle Indian dishes inspired by Rizvi’s mother’s recipes. This will be complemented by offerings from Bessou on the Pier, presented by restaurateur Maiko Kyogoku and chef Elena Yamamoto, which will serve modern Japanese dishes like Yamamoto’s renowned karaage fried chicken and crispy sushi rice.

Other notable vendors include Bird & Branch by Faith and Brandon Lee, recognized for its specialty coffees; Due Madri by the founders of Butcher Girls, creating a go-to spot for meat shoppers; and Local Roots by Wen-Jay Ying, an elevated Chinese farm-to-table experience focused on sustainably sourced ingredients. Additional offerings include LoLo’s on the Water, Malai, Mothershuckers, Nom Wah, Harlem Hops, Lobster Place, The Good Batch, Ras Plant Based, Zaab Zaab, and Mijo.

Moreover, Market 57 will also feature two concepts developed by the James Beard Foundation: Platform by JBF and Good To Go by JBF. The former serves as both a showcase kitchen and an educational space, hosting chefs-in-residence for exclusive culinary experiences. The latter presents a kiosk offering fast-casual bites prepared by emerging talents.
