Oceania Cruises’ new ship, Vista, has a resort-style pool, a stunning cocktail bar, and spacious cabins. As the ship docked in Naples, Italy, I decided to enjoy a refreshing Morning Sunrise smoothie at Aquamar Kitchen on deck 12. The delightful atmosphere and vibrant smoothie immediately brightened my day. My husband and I resolved to explore the renowned pizza of the area despite the rain.

Having recently launched the Vista, Oceania Cruises introduced its new Allura class of ships, marking its first new ship in 11 years. The Vista features all rooms with balconies and is equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi, providing reliable internet connectivity even while sailing across the Tyrrhenian Sea. With 11 bars and restaurants onboard, including three new establishments, guests can enjoy high-end cocktails and health-focused dining options.

Culinary Offerings

Returning guests will recognize dining venues like Polo Grill and Toscana. An exciting highlight for me was dining at Toscana, where I savored the signature Capri-inspired lemon spaghetti, created with recipes by the ship’s godmother, Giada De Laurentiis. Our culinary tour continued at the pan-Asian restaurant, Red Ginger, where the hyped duck-and-watermelon salad lived up to its reputation.

Founders Bar, the newest addition, boasts an impressive cocktail menu featuring intricate concoctions. We particularly enjoyed the Not So Sure cocktail, a delightful blend of Earl Grey-infused Woodford Reserve bourbon. The evenings filled with music and a vibrant atmosphere made it a perfect gathering spot.

Excursions and Activities

Oceania Cruises has significantly expanded its tours and excursions, now offering over 100 unique experiences tailored for enthusiastic travelers. These “Go Local” tours provide deeper insights into local cultures, pushing beyond traditional cruise offerings. Whether mingling with locals or exploring hidden gems, these excursions bring travelers closer to their destinations.

On one memorable excursion, I journeyed to Corsica, where we enjoyed breathtaking views and authentic local cuisine. The culinary adventure included a remarkable charcuterie selection at a historic hotel, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the region’s flavors.

Accommodations

The Vista features 14 Oceania Suites and various suites designed for maximum comfort. My concierge-level stateroom included a spacious balcony, queen-size bed, and a double shower—much appreciated after a day of exploration. The intelligent design of the rooms enhances both comfort and accessibility, ensuring a pleasurable stay.

As we sailed away from Corsica, I indulged in the ship’s resort-like amenities, from poolside cocktails to exquisite dining experiences, ensuring every moment aboard was memorable.
