1. Introduction
Maison Elle opened last month in Paris, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week, which begins on January 17, 2023.
2. Location and Concept
Located in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées, the anticipated Maison Elle officially opened its doors in December 2022, just in time for the fashion event. This marks the first hotel venture for Elle, a brand founded in Paris in 1945. Although the brand has ventured into hospitality through cafés and spas across Asia, it has not had a physical presence in Paris until now.
3. Interior Design and Ambiance
Taking over the former Hotel Flanelles, Maison Elle Paris is a collaboration between Elle Hospitality and hotelier Pascal Donat of Valotel France. The interiors of this intimate 25-key property were crafted by local design duo Laurent & Laurence, reflecting the French art de vivre.
Common Areas
The common spaces are designed for relaxation and socialization. An inviting dining room features plush velvet sofas for breakfast and afternoon tea, complemented by sweet treats from CinqSens’ pastry chef, Nicolas Paciello. The tranquil living room includes a library offering a curated selection of books covering fashion, art, and Paris. For a lively evening, guests can enjoy craft cocktails at the bar while recounting their adventures. Additionally, the hotel boasts a spa complete with a sauna, steam room, yoga studio, and a boutique with Elle-branded products.
Room Décor
The guest rooms draw inspiration from Parisian wardrobes, adorned with details like Breton stripes, denim upholstery, and chevron parquet flooring, all reflecting iconic French style. The black-and-white checkerboard tiled bathrooms stocked with Byca toiletries evoke the charm of a classic bistro. Laurent Bardet from Laurent & Laurence explains that the goal was to create a “home as if you were invited by a Parisian friend for a stay,” establishing a residential vibe with cozy reading nooks and custom furnishings.
