Spotlight on Provincetown

In our latest episode, Edwards engages with writer Jordan Kisner to discuss her recent trip to Provincetown, MA. This seaside town, located on the tip of Cape Cod, has become renowned as a haven for the LGBTQIA+ community.

“It’s definitely a destination spoken of with a lot of affection and some reverence in the [LGBTQIA+] community because it has been a town that has welcomed queer individuals for many years, even during times when most places were not welcoming,” described Kisner. “So I’d heard of it this way as well as through its acclaimed writers’ colony and artists’ community. Many writers I admire have lived and created works here.”

During her visit, Kisner experienced firsthand the enchanting nature of Provincetown and observed its intriguing juxtaposition to its historical roots.

“There was something magical yet also commercial about the way the queer community thrived in this historic American town. After all, it is where the pilgrims first landed,” Kisner explained. “This creates a fascinating blend of surprising and delightful elements.”
