Transform Your Work Life with the Cayman Islands Digital Nomad Visa
Do you dream of working from a sunny Caribbean location? The Cayman Islands offers an exciting new visa certificate that allows digital nomads to live and work there for up to 90 days.
Global Citizen Concierge Program
The Cayman Islands is reopening its doors to tourists and enticing remote workers to bring their jobs to this paradise. The impressive three-month visa scheme, known as the Global Citizen Concierge Program (GCCP), enables individuals to retain their employment in their home country while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Cayman Islands.
Eligibility Criteria and Requirements
However, while the program sounds appealing, it is not accessible to everyone. Applicants must fulfill specific criteria, including:
- Proof of an annual salary of at least US$100,000 for a single applicant,
- A minimum salary of $150,000 for applicants with one dependent, and
- A minimum of $168,000 for applicants with two dependents.
- Additional salary requirements are enforced as more dependents are included.
Moreover, applicants are required to provide evidence of health insurance coverage and submit a non-refundable deposit of at least $1,469.
Living in the Cayman Islands
Successful applicants can choose to reside on any of the three islands that constitute the British Overseas Territory. Grand Cayman, renowned for its development and high-quality accommodations, features upscale dining and the famous Seven Mile Beach.
Despite the presence of a large multinational community, the islands maintain rich local culture and affordable living options in areas like Bodden Town and East End on Grand Cayman, as well as throughout Cayman Brac. Furthermore, the islands are celebrated for their marine and jungle wildlife, offering magnificent hiking trails and nature reserves, particularly in Little Cayman, the smallest of the islands.
Health and Safety Regulations for Visitors
Initially, the program was intended to launch in 2020 as a two-year visa, but conditions were revised to a 90-day visa in 2022. The Cayman Islands is currently welcoming vaccinated tourists, although testing requirements are enforced. For instance, arrivals from the US, Canada, and the UK must undergo a pre-departure COVID-19 test and take rapid antigen tests on the second, fifth, and tenth days of their stay. Notably, Omicron cases are rising in the Cayman Islands, leading to measures such as limits on gatherings and bar closures at midnight.
