Rock ‘n’ Roll Adventures: Nik and Lindsey’s Journey
It’s a dream to travel the world, hitting the road with your favorite bands, and experiencing beautiful landscapes from a tour bus. However, for most, the opportunity remains a fantasy, often limited to back issues of music magazines. Yet, for Nik Sheasby and Lindsey Bathke, touring is part of their everyday lives, each spending over a decade in the music industry while working with legendary bands like Ghost, Metallica, and Jewel.
Their careers, filled with long hours, have simultaneously provided an opportunity to explore the globe. Last summer, both received the incredible offer to work on the North American leg of the Rolling Stones’ No Filter tour.
What started as a job quickly transformed into an adventure. When Nik and Lindsey first met, they were strangers. However, as they traveled from one arena to another, they bonded over their love of exploration and soon found themselves falling in love amidst the hustle of tour life.
Life on the Road
Nik and Lindsey embarked on a new journey just before Christmas, purchasing one-way tickets to Europe, eager to see where their mutual passion for travel would lead them. Before departing, they shared insights into life on a tour bus and their unique love story that unfolded while working with rock royalty.
Adventure Buddies in Music City
At High Brow Coffee + Tea in Franklin, Tennessee, Nik and Lindsey’s bohemian style set them apart among the locals—a true testament to their rich experiences in the concert scene. Both have dedicated years mastering the intricacies of backstage life, but this path has involved challenges. Yet, during downtime, they’ve always found ways to seek adventure.
For instance, on a recent tour with the band Ghost, Nik ventured out to explore new coffee shops and eateries rather than lounging around the hotel. He often returned to share his discoveries with surprised colleagues, showcasing his talent for uncovering hidden gems, even in less popular cities.
The No Filter Opportunity
Nik learned of the No Filter opportunity while enjoying a break in Europe. On the other hand, Lindsey was at home in Nashville, unaware of what fate had planned. Just as the tour was about to kick off in Düsseldorf, Germany, he received a message from an old friend who needed crew help for the tour’s merchandise team.
Initially hesitant to leave his peaceful life in Denmark, he was urged to seize the opportunity—a chance to tour with the Rolling Stones was deemed unbeatable.
Lindsey’s acceptance was smoother; after years of pursuing a wardrobe position, she received an email that changed everything. This unexpected yet exciting invitation ignited a new chapter in both their lives.
A Journey of Love
Once on tour, they quickly became a close-knit family of 60 crew members. Nik and Lindsey enjoyed unique moments, sharing backstage tea parties and discovering their shared passion for adventure. This chemistry led them to explore together, creating memories in cities across North America.
As their relationship blossomed, they realized that the connection they formed during the tour had potential for lasting romance. They appreciated each other’s travel styles and the ability to embrace the unknown on their journeys.
Looking Ahead
The conclusion of the No Filter tour signaled new beginnings. Nik and Lindsey now search for their next great adventure—one that will take them across Europe, chasing the Northern Lights, visiting Christmas markets in Germany, and fulfilling bucket list dreams.
With an open-ended itinerary ahead, they look forward to spontaneous travel experiences, reconnecting with friends, and embracing the chance for serendipity in their travels. Ultimately, this journey signifies the ever-growing bond between the two, as they continue to pursue their passions side by side.
