Summary
Princess Cruises launched the Ruby Princess in November 2008. Although the Ruby Princess is nearly identical to her two older sisters, the Emerald Princess and the Crown Princess, she boasts unique features that cruisers will appreciate.
Ruby Princess – More New Features
Suite passengers will love enjoying exclusive breakfast at Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria from approximately 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Guests adore dining here, making it a wonderful option for those staying in the 28 suites.
The Ruby Princess has enhanced its Vines bar, offering wine flights and pairings, while the International Cafe serves as a great casual dining spot.
Additions include a variety of enrichment programs aimed at expanding passengers’ horizons, with topics ranging from mixology and party planning to navigation, art history, and astronomy. Consequently, Ruby Princess passengers can enjoy not just excellent cuisine but also educational experiences.
Also noteworthy are the small enhancements that elevate the guest experience. For instance, fresh, cooked-to-order waffles are available at breakfast and throughout lunchtime in the Horizon Court buffet. Moreover, complimentary lemonade is now offered as a beverage choice. In the evening, several public lounges serve a selection of canapes.
Cruisers looking to stay connected will appreciate additional wireless hotspots, even in the cabins. Furthermore, guests can utilize their personal cellular phones if they have international roaming plans while onboard.
The “Ultimate Ship Tour” allows passengers to experience key areas of the ship, including the engine control room, medical center, print shop, and bridge. This exclusive tour provides rare insights into ship operations, along with themed mementos as takeaways.
Ruby Princess Dining Options
The Ruby Princess features a variety of exceptional dining options. The ship pays special attention to creating romantic dining experiences, epitomized by the exquisite desserts available.
There are three main dining rooms: two for Anytime dining at dinner and one for traditional, two-seating-times dinner.
Among the most memorable dining experiences are the specialty meals. Notably, the Chef’s Table begins with canapes and champagne, followed by an impressive meal with select wines, concluding with a grand dessert. Additionally, for couples, the “ultimate balcony dinner” offers a romantic ambiance as wait staff serves each course directly to your balcony.
For casual meals, options include Café Caribe, Horizon Court buffets, pizza at the pizzeria, or dining poolside at the Trident Grill. Clearly, hunger will not be a concern on the Ruby Princess!
Ruby Princess Staterooms and Suites
The Ruby Princess offers five main types of staterooms:
- Suite with balcony
- Mini-suite with balcony
- Oceanview double with balcony
- Oceanview double without balcony
- Interior with two lower beds
Suite pricing tends to be significantly higher than that of interior cabins. Therefore, travelers must evaluate their budgets and priorities for their vacation experience. Personally, I enjoy having a balcony, while some friends prefer to cruise more frequently with interior accommodations.
For added incentive, suite passengers can savor an exclusive breakfast in Sabatini’s, enhancing the allure of these luxurious accommodations.
Ruby Princess – Lounges and Bars
The Ruby Princess boasts three entertainment lounges: the Princess Theater, Explorers Lounge, and Club Fusion. The Princess Theater features Las Vegas-style production shows in the evenings and cultural presentations during the day. The Explorers Lounge often hosts comedians or musical groups, while Club Fusion provides interactive games for guests.
Each bar features unique decor. The Wheelhouse Bar has a nautical theme and sometimes showcases small jazz bands. The Adagio Bar next to Sabatini’s provides an elegant, quiet atmosphere, and Crooner’s Bar overlooks the bustling Piazza. Skywalkers Nightclub, located high above the ship on deck 18, offers stunning views both day and night.
Ruby Princess Interior Common Areas
The most recognizable common area is the sprawling Piazza on deck 5, serving as the ship’s social epicenter, complete with live entertainment throughout the day. Nearby, you’ll find the Internet Cafe, International Cafe, and Vines Bar.
On higher decks, the library, boutiques, Princess Theater, and tour desk are conveniently located on the Promenade deck. Moreover, a Youth Center offers various activities for children and teens.
Ruby Princess Outdoors
The Lido Deck serves as the hub of outdoor fun with two significant swimming pools, Neptune’s Pool and Calypso Pool, surrounded by ample deck chairs. This deck also features buffet dining options, casual eateries, and multiple bars, ensuring a wonderful vacation experience without ever having to leave the space!
Ruby Princess – Spa, Fitness Center, and Sanctuary
The Ruby Princess offers diverse options for passengers seeking relaxation or physical fitness. The Lotus Spa on deck 16 provides extensive spa amenities.
Adjacent to the spa lies The Sanctuary, a serene escape designed for adults to unwind from the ship’s excitement.
The fitness center is well-equipped with the latest exercise machines, all offering scenic ocean views. This extensive range of relaxation and fitness amenities ensures that Ruby Princess guests will return home rejuvenated and invigorated.
