Fans of fashion and history can enjoy a virtual exhibition of costumes from The Queen’s Gambit and The Crown. Brooklyn Museum in New York is presenting an immersive online exhibition featuring digitally-rendered images and interactive 360-degree views of costumes from both series.

These costumes are displayed alongside related objects from the museum’s collection, set within the breathtaking Beaux-Arts Court. Highlights include an ancient Egyptian board game, senet, dating back to circa 1938 BC–1799 BC, as well as a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II crafted from hundreds of plastic toys and trinkets. This exhibition has been launched in collaboration with Netflix, which presents the original limited series of The Queen’s Gambit and the fourth season of The Crown.

Costumes for The Queen’s Gambit were designed by Gabriele Binder, showcasing the evolution of the fictional 1960s chess champion, Elizabeth “Beth” Harmon. The costumes incorporate structural lines and monochromatic patterns, symbolizing elements of the game within her wardrobe. Emmy-winning costume designer Amy Roberts developed intricate outfits inspired by iconic 20th-century British women featured in The Crown, including Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret, Princess Diana, and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
