Explore Idyllic Indonesian Islands Aboard These Stunning Yachts

Luxury Yachts in Indonesia

Indonesia has long been a favorite among hard-core sailors and scuba divers. However, the recent emergence of luxurious, all-inclusive ships is attracting a new breed of adventure seekers to the archipelago’s impressive 17,000 islands. In 2015, Aman significantly transformed the experience with the introduction of Amandira, marking the dawn of high-end charter yachts equipped with modern comforts. These indulgent features include air-conditioned guest cabins and an array of water toys like kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, all wrapped in the romantic charm of traditional phinisi styling.

Dream Diving Destinations

Moreover, a number of exclusive yachts are navigating to breathtaking diving locations such as Raja Ampat and the Moluccas, the stunning island chain between Papua and Sulawesi. The Dunia Baru offers accommodations for up to 14 guests within seven en suite cabins and features a spacious deck abundant with daybeds and lounge areas. The yacht’s interior, designed by Dierdre Renniers Interior Design, emphasizes natural fibers and hand-carved ironwood, creating an inviting atmosphere.

New Yacht Offerings

Consequently, another noteworthy phinisi is Vela, a 12-passenger, six-cabin yacht run by the eco-conscious team behind Bali resort Nirjhara. Launched in May, Vela combines relaxation with adventure, offering open-air yoga sessions, guided meditation, and massage treatments on deck. Additionally, guests can engage in scuba diving experiences, exploring vibrant coral reefs and underwater caverns in prime locations like Komodo National Park.

Arriving in January 2023 is Celestia, a seven-cabin phinisi co-created by Indonesian siblings Jasmine Chong and Jason Tabalujan. “This project reflects our passion for showcasing the romance of slow travel,” Chung states. Guests will be invited to indulge in three-night journeys around Komodo and two-week sails through the coral-fringed Moluccas. “It’s about connecting with nature and immersing oneself in the beauty of the stars and the underwater jewels,” she adds.
