Originally a tired motel, The Sunseeker has undergone a stunning transformation led by first-time moteliers Jess and Dave Frid, alongside a team of notable local artists and designers. The motel beautifully reflects the rich Northern Rivers creative community, now serving as a design hub filled with art and collectibles. Jess expresses their vision: “We wanted to create a low-key, yet exciting place where families can feel welcome.” Collaborating with eco-conscious builders, the original charm of the Eighties redbrick motel has been retained while creatively repurposing materials from the property.

Offering 12 spacious motel-style rooms, including standard, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom family suites, each features a patio or balcony overlooking the pool or gardens. The surf-shack vibe is complemented by curated details like crystal-adorned terrazzo benchtops and organic shower products infused with native botanicals. The bungalows, perfect for families, include a queen bed, bunk beds, a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor claw-foot bath, and barbecue.

Food and Drink

In keeping with the laid-back motel atmosphere, there is no restaurant on site. Guests can order hampers from the nearby Bay Grocer, while those in the bungalows can enjoy barbecue meal kits. The tiki bar by the poolside serves a selection of small-batch organic wines and beers, perfect for unwinding.
