Delving into the Backstory
The original Xigera, a modest camp constructed from reed and thatch, holds the distinction of being the first property established by Wilderness Safaris in Botswana during the mid-1980s. The Tollman family, having owned a significant share of Wilderness Safaris, decided to retain Xigera as they parted ways, allowing them to fulfil a lifelong aspiration of rebuilding and refining their cherished lodge.
Today, Mike Myers, along with his wife Marian, who are recognized for their extensive safari knowledge and operational expertise, oversee Xigera. They successfully blend the family’s hospitality legacy with a deep understanding of sustainable practices in remote areas.
