Experience Zero Real Estate: A Unique Accommodation in Switzerland

A temporary hotel in Switzerland offers an ideal solution for travelers navigating social distancing while torn between a luxurious hotel stay and camping under the stars. This unique accommodation allows guests to sink into a comfy double bed without walls or a roof, providing an unobstructed view of the night sky.

The Concept Behind Zero Real Estate

The innovative project, known as Zero Real Estate, was developed by Null Stern Hotels, a name that translates to “zero stars” in German. First launched in 2017, this pop-up hotel was created by conceptual artists Frank and Patrik Riklin alongside hospitality professional Daniel Charbonnier.

In 2008, Null Stern gained international attention with a hotel situated in a nuclear bunker in Switzerland. That project, located in Sevelen, was touted as “the first zero-star hotel in the world.” However, it has since evolved into its current concept, promoting the idea that “the only star is you.”

Accommodation and Pricing

The rooms are available to rent in scenic Swiss tourist locations, including St.Gallen-Lake Constance, Toggenburg, Heidiland, Appenzellerland AR, Thurgau, Schaffhauserland, and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

The hotel is operated by local residents, who serve as “modern butlers” to welcome guests and deliver trays of food and drink. An overnight stay costs approximately 250 Swiss Francs (about €275 or US$314) per night. For more information, you can visit the official site.

While this unique hotel room truly provides stunning views, it is important to note that it does not include a bathroom or shower facilities.
