Thean Hou Temple is a six-tiered structure that invites exploration across its multiple levels.

From the higher tiers, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the skyline of Kuala Lumpur. The temple’s location allows for a quick detour while visiting central Kuala Lumpur.

Visiting Thean Hou at night offers a different experience, as the temple is beautifully illuminated and stays open late. During Chinese New Year, the temple is adorned with countless glowing lanterns, creating a magical atmosphere.

Where We Stayed

Our accommodation was at the 2-star Ahyu Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which cost approximately $17 USD per night. The hotel offered a clean double room complete with cold air conditioning, television, a private bathroom, and high-speed WiFi.

The location was ideal, with walking distance access to the train station, convenience stores, fast food outlets (including McDonald’s and KFC), Chinatown, KL Central Market, Merdeka Square, and even the Petronas Towers!

Keep in mind that prices may fluctuate, so it’s wise to remain attentive for any favorable deals.
