The French footballer and Arsenal legend explains how his attitude to travel has changed over the years.

Where have you just come back from?
I went on a short break to Paris to see my parents.
Where in the world have you felt happiest?
I have traveled twice to Rio, and that is my favorite place. Unlike big towns, Rio has it all. I appreciate how everyone in Brazil enjoys samba, shares the same cuisine, and possesses a unified cultural connection. Consequently, Rio is always an eye-opener for me, as very few cities have a sense of community like it does.
Childhood Travel Memories
My childhood travel involved visiting friends in my neighborhood, as my family couldn’t afford to travel far. People often think I grew up in Paris, but I spent my childhood in the suburbs in a place known as Les Ulis. Occasionally, my mother would take me to Paris, where I found the city beautiful. I fondly remember her shopping at bargain clothing stores, making every visit special.
First Holiday Without Parents
One of my earliest travel memories was playing for the French national team and visiting Faro in Portugal. I was around 16 at the time and felt a wave of excitement representing my country. My career then led me to Monaco and Italy when I was about 16-17 years old, further enriching my travel experiences.
Future Travel Plans
The one country I would love to visit is Australia, as I never had a chance to go there during my football career due to time constraints and the challenges of overcoming jet lag.
Favorite City
I take pride in being French, but I also identify as a Londoner, embracing the diverse culture the city offers.
Favorite View
I cherish the laid-back vibe of spending time isolated on an island, connecting with my family. My children humorously express their views on traveling, often not appreciating our travels as much as I wish they would. I endeavor to teach them that such experiences are not the norm, hoping to instill an appreciation for every destination we explore.
Most Important Luggage Item
My suits and clothing are crucial items in my luggage, as I always want them to arrive in perfect condition. This necessity inspired me to co-design the Kabuto x Thierry Henry luggage collection, tailored for modern travelers. Our carry-on suitcase features a rotating clip to securely hold suits and advanced technology like touch-unlock fingerprint access and silent all-terrain wheels. Furthermore, our trunk offers nearly 100 liters of storage and transforms into a vertical wardrobe, optimizing both packing and unpacking.
Sightseeing vs. Relaxation
I prefer to explore different cultures and religions, finding it significantly meaningful to immerse myself in the world’s diversity.
