Unveiled by Latvian design start-up Zeltini, the Z-Triton is a tiny electric camper that also transforms into a boat and a tricycle.

According to the company, this unique vehicle has room for two people to sleep comfortably and is tailored for travelers who enjoy escaping to nature for both long adventures and quick getaways. The Z-Triton features three wheels that easily fold up, enabling a swift transition from land to water mode. This tiny amphibious camper has been rigorously tested and can be utilized in both winter and summer conditions.
Versatile Design and Features
The Z-Triton’s tricycle design allows users to travel in one direction while the boat mode navigates in another. It is equipped with:
- Two 250-watt electric motor hubs
- A 36-volt battery providing a 40-kilometre range of assistance, depending on terrain and rider leg power
- Integrated lights, a horn, and USB charging ports
- Comfortable seating and an aerodynamic umbrella
- Two water bottle holders
- A fold-up passenger seat with a safety belt and a designated spot for pets (which can be swapped for a child’s seat)
- Six solar panels
- A removable plant pot designed for camping essentials
Consequently, travelers can bring along herbs such as basil, mint, or dill for cooking while camping.
Seamless Transition to Water Mode
To access water, the three wheels fold up, and inflatable pontoons can be attached. In boat mode, the Z-Triton is equipped with an electric motor that easily slots in and out. The steering and power cables connect to the engine, making it ready to glide across lakes and rivers. The boating range is approximately ten kilometres, depending on the battery size.
Cozy Interior with Essential Amenities
When stationary, the Z-Triton transforms into a cozy tiny house complete with a hatch. It features:
- Interior lighting
- An extractor fan for basic cooking
- Six integrated shelves for storing food and essentials
- A folding kitchen and dining table
Moreover, seats can be removed to convert the interior space into a comfortable bedroom.
Future Availability
The Z-Triton is currently in the design prototype stage, and Zeltini plans to introduce this innovative vehicle to the market in time for the summer season of 2021. It will be available for individual purchases and for the tourism industry.
