Rancho Pescadero is a 103-key property sprawling over 30 acres in Baja California’s historic town of Todos Santos, Mexico. The property reopened in November following a four-year renovation and expansion. Owner Lisa Harper emphasizes her commitment to sustainability. She states, “Anything that we tore up, we tried to reuse, whether it was wood or tile.” This eco-conscious effort includes creating a water desalination and bottling plant to minimize plastic waste throughout the area.
Community Involvement
Harper sees her role in expanding Rancho Pescadero as intertwined with her commitment to the Todos Santos community. Recognized in iBestTravel‘s 2023 Global Vision Awards, she aims to be a “good, responsible patron.” The hotel’s growth has retained its local focus—employing local residents and sourcing from local vendors—thereby benefitting the community economically. Despite the larger footprint of the hotel now, Harper’s dedication to supporting the local economy remains steadfast.
Future Plans for Growth
As Rancho Pescadero looks to the future, it aims to launch a solar farm, enhancing its energy sustainability. Additionally, plans are in place for constructing 21 homes for staff and their families, with hopes to expand to a total of 170 residential units over the coming years. This vision consistently prioritizes the well-being of the Todos Santos community, ensuring that growth benefits local families.
