Tony Dunnell: Expert Insights and Profile

Experience

Tony Dunnell is a former writer for iBestTravel who spent five years creating guides to Peru’s culture, tourism industry, destinations, and famous attractions.

By the time he moved to Peru, Tony had already clocked-up one and a half years of solo travel in South America. In 2008, he caught the infamous travel bug after six months in Brazil, a trip soon followed by a one-year voyage throughout the continent, from the southern tip of Argentina to the north coast of Colombia.

Since settling in Peru in 2009, Tony has dedicated himself to his two great passions: travel and writing. His writing has appeared in various travel guides and on popular websites such as Living in Peru, The Latin Kitchen, and USA Today Travel. When he’s not traveling or writing, Tony can often be found sipping a Sierra Andina craft beer or a chilcano de pisco at his bar in Tarapoto: Huascar Bar.

Education

Dunnell holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
