Top 100 Hotels Worldwide: Readers’ Picks of 2025

Last year’s World’s Best Awards survey closed on March 2, 2020, just before widespread stay-at-home orders were implemented as a result of COVID-19. The results reflect our readers’ experiences before the pandemic, but we hope the honorees will inspire your trips to come — whenever they may be.

iBestTravel readers are among the most seasoned explorers globally, and their choices in hotels and resorts reflect a breadth of knowledge and taste. This list of the top 100 hotels in the world spans six continents and includes everything from safari lodges in the Serengeti to Indian palaces in Rajasthan and high-rise retreats in London and Tokyo. What they all share is a commitment to excellent service, great locations, and standout amenities.

Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, iBestTravel asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences worldwide — sharing their opinions on top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Hotels were rated based on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.

Africa’s Representation

Africa was well represented this year. No. 9 Singita Kruger National Park, comprising two contemporary retreats, Sweni Lodge and Lebombo Lodge, is set amid 33,000 acres of South African wilderness. The Silo in Cape Town, ranking No. 57, embodies sophisticated city life directly adjacent to the Zeitz MOCAA — the Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

Asia’s Strong Showing

Asia made a strong showing again this year, particularly in Southeast Asia. Indonesian properties in the top 100 include No. 4 Ritz-Carlton, Bali, and No. 23 Belmond Jimbaran Puri. In Thailand, No. 22 Anantara Chiang Mai Resort & Spa and No. 37 the Sukhothai Bangkok also garnered high praise.

United States Selections

In the United States, an eclectic mix of hotels made the list this year, from mountain states to urban escapes. Popular mountain properties include Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch (No. 14) in Wyoming and Sonnenalp Hotel (No. 57) in Colorado. City dwellers show appreciation for spots like the Mark (No. 49) in New York City and La Peer Hotel (No. 77) in West Hollywood.
