Cabin Expansion

The new cabin started rolling out earlier this month on flights from San Francisco and New York. Starting in June, it will be added to flights from Houston to Dubai, and from Los Angeles to Dubai in July.

Food and Amenities

While the premium economy experience isn’t as luxurious as the airline’s beloved business class, it offers added seat space and elevated food options, such as prawn biryani and toffee apple pecan crisp with Chandon Brut Champagne. Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ divisional vice president for the U.S. and Canada, stated, “It’s right in between. We differentiated it from our economy product, but not close enough to our business class.”

Fleet Upgrades

Emirates initially announced its premium economy offering in 2021, and since then, has been introducing it to travelers from major cities including London, Paris, and Sydney. They are providing a much-needed upgrade for passengers looking to improve their travel experience, particularly on long-haul flights to Dubai, which can last up to 17 hours.

To further enhance passenger experience, Emirates is giving its entire fleet a comprehensive upgrade. For example, planes departing from New York will have new gold-tinged wallpaper, revamped wood paneling, and fresh cushioning in both business and economy class. The airline is also upgrading the exterior of its aircraft with a larger logo and a new 3D version of the United Arab Emirates flag on the tail fin.
