This year’s World’s Best Awards survey closed on March 2, just before widespread stay-at-home orders were implemented as a result of COVID-19. The results reflect our readers’ experiences before the pandemic, but we hope that this year’s honorees will inspire your upcoming trips—whenever they may be.
Best City Hotels in Australia and New Zealand
This year, when it comes to the best city hotels in Australia and New Zealand, iBestTravel readers favored traditional grand hotels over boutique lodgings. The majority of the five top hotels boast hundreds of rooms, central locations, and sweeping views. The only exception is the number one hotel, a 48-room property in a restored 19th-century landmark building.

They share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, and more. Hotels were rated on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value, providing an insight into travel accommodations.
