In much the same way that I wanted, as a little girl, to grow up and wear Chanel, I longed to holiday at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. This destination seemed impossibly glamorous, akin to a members-only club where one had to embody beauty, wealth, and intellect to enjoy its luxurious swimming pool, the crown jewel of the French Riviera. During my first visit, I felt like an outsider, attempting to mask my excitement while sipping lemonade in my flip-flops. However, every moment was filled with a movie-like magic, as I observed people swimming in the ocean and playing tennis with their coaches amid breezy hats and kaftans. Children lounged nearby, savoring their colorful ice creams.

Upon my return in autumn 2021, just days after the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week and a year after a tumultuous period, my excitement only grew. This time, I didn’t conceal my joy. The atmosphere was electrifying—glamorous people around me were equally elated to be back in one of their favorite places in the world, hiking through ancient pine trees and indulging in rosé from lunchtime until changing to red wine in the evening. The Caesar salad and chocolate mousse were extraordinary. The staff, impeccably dressed in crisp white trousers and striped shirts by day, transitioned to elegant evening attire, enhancing the overall charm of the establishment. In this revitalized world, even the classics shimmered anew. The sun cast golden rays over the Mediterranean, making it sparkle in response.
