This is where to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community this summer, wherever you are in the UK.
Brighton and Hove Pride
Brighton and Hove Pride is regarded as the country’s most popular Pride event, and for good reason. Superstar acts take to the stage each year, including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Carly Rae Jepsen in summers past. This summer, Girls Aloud, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Billy Porter take to the stage on Saturday, followed by S Club and Mika on Sunday. Fabuloso is where the big-name entertainment’s at, but a lot is happening across the city over the August weekend. In Kempton, discover an eclectic mix of entertainment zones among the bars and event venues – expect drag artists, live musicians, and DJs at every turn.
Dates: 3 – 4 August 2024
Margate Pride
Jodie Harsh and Bimini are taking to the Pride Stage in Dreamland Margate this summer. Dance the day away and get the adrenaline pumping on some of the rides across the historic funfair site before tucking into fish and chips with a twist from The Sea Shanty or Mediterranean goodness from Hide & Greek.
Dates: 10 August 2024
Pride Edinburgh
Pride Edinburgh is Scotland’s longest-running free celebration of the LGBT community, so the team behind it knows exactly what pleases the crowds now. Expect Atomic Kitten, Kelli-Leigh, and Amelia Lily on the main stage for the festival event, and cheer on marchers as they parade through the town in kaleidoscopic gear.
Dates: 22 June 2024
Bristol Pride
On Saturday 13 July, Bristol comes alive for Pride Day. The Human League are headlining the main stage with support from electronica duo Ladytron and Steps’ Claire Richards. There are many other areas to explore, including a Family Area, Circus Tent, and Dance Performance Stage – you can even rave the afternoon away at a silent disco or unwind in the wellbeing area. While the Pride parade and main stages are on for one day, Pride in Bristol is a three-week celebration. During this time, many exciting activities and events are happening across the city, including Drag Bingo nights, LGBTQ+ tours, and one-off performances.
Dates: 29 June – 14 July 2024
Pride Cymru
The volunteer-led charity Pride Cymru is putting on a colourful weekend this summer, campaigning for LGBTQ+ equality and acceptance while having lots of fun in the process. Pixie Perez and Dr Bev headline the main stage on Saturday, hosted by figures such as Big Brother’s Jenkin. While a few hundred LGBTQ+ supporters marched through the streets of Cardiff in 1985, the march now attracts thousands of Queer participants and swarms of supporters – cheer along after some hearty grub from the dozens of market stalls.
Dates: 22 – 23 June 2024
Manchester Pride
Manchester Pride has announced the biggest, boldest, and brightest party in the Gay Village to date this summer. Artists and acts entertaining the thousands of revellers include Jessie J, Loreen, Bimini, and Katy B. Best of all, a fixed donation from every ticket sold goes directly to the Manchester Pride Community Fund, supporting LGBTQ+ causes and projects in Greater Manchester.
Dates: 23-26 August 2024
Northern Pride
Newcastle is known for its nightlife year-round; however, once a year, the city becomes a kaleidoscopic hub of activity for Northern Pride. Fat Tony and Little Fix are some of the DJs taking to the decks in the festival area, while many more take to the stage for the most colourful of celebrations. Before an afternoon of dancing, thousands of people are expected to join the march through the city towards the Rainbow Village.
Dates: 19 – 21 July 2024
