The Spa at Gleneagles
Established in 1924 in Perthshire’s Glendevon and Ochil Hills, Gleneagles is an experience like no other. This renowned destination combines luxurious accommodations, stunning dining options, and an impressive spa offering. The spa, which opened in 2021, boasts 20 treatment rooms and a skilled team of therapists, each reflecting the celebratory spirit of Gleneagles.
Guests can unwind in a charming waiting area adorned with plants, or relax in a tranquil retreat that feels reminiscent of a chic dormitory. Groups of friends often gather beside the vitality pool or on heated loungers, sharing laughter and rejuvenating moments.
The Spa Café, led by naturopath-nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson, presents a refreshing menu that shifts from indulgent beverages to wholesome meals such as buckwheat risottos and herbal teas. Notably, Gleneagles offers unique experiences like mountainside yoga retreats and silent hikes.
For treatments, I experienced the Long Exhale, Gleneagles’ signature offering, featuring a series of stretches followed by a luxurious massage using organic oils. The Jade Comb Facial and Scalp Massage was an extraordinary touch that highlighted the lush offerings available.
The spa also features treatments by the green beauty brand Tata Harper, known for its holistic approach to skincare. With a variety of wellness-focused options and an array of outdoor pursuits—ranging from hiking in misty hills to tree climbing—there’s something for everyone at Gleneagles.

As a mainstay in the London spa scene, Espa Life at Corinthia offers a holistic escape from everyday stress. Inside its serene cocoon, curved designs and hidden corners create an atmosphere of tranquillity. Recently, the spa has introduced a trio of Modern Alchemy treatments, inspired by the lunar cycle, that aim to promote balance, power, and a sense of peace.
Recognizing the growing need for mental wellness, spa manager Kirsty McLellan explains, “People are seeking a more holistic experience with emotional support,” especially in the wake of recent challenges. For those in search of effective relief, treatments like the Harmonising and Empowering options offer robust massages using unique tools such as a Kansa wand and jade roller.
I immersed myself in the Tranquillity experience, starting with a foot-bathing ceremony enhanced by crystal energies. The two-hour ritual included a delightful combination of scrubs and massages, featuring aromatic oils that filled the room with calming scents. The experience culminated with a Shirodhara treatment, where warm oil flows gently onto the forehead—instantly soothing and wonderfully grounding.
With its emphasis on mental health and holistic therapies, Espa Life at Corinthia stands as a beacon of wellness in the heart of the city.
