Ottawa is our absolute favorite city in Ontario, featuring an abundance of museums, historical sites, and a vibrant food scene. Outdoor activities on the Ottawa River, visits to the Canadian National Gallery, Canadian War Museum, and Parliament Hill make it an ideal spot for a long weekend.
Visitors can fly directly into Ottawa from New York or Toronto or drive from major cities like Montreal, which is a two-hour drive from Ottawa. The capital of Canada is a fantastic year-round getaway.
2. Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is Canada’s most renowned attraction and a must-visit in Ontario, featuring the largest waterfall by volume. The town provides everything required for the perfect long weekend, including various tourist attractions, restaurants, spas, and luxurious hotels.
The whole family will love the falls attractions, indoor waterparks such as Great Wolf Lodge, and access to nearby wineries.
Getting there: It is an hour’s drive from Hamilton and an hour and a half from Toronto.
