Traveling to Lithuania: Latest UK Travel Restrictions

Is Travel to Lithuania Allowed?

On 24 February 2022, Lithuania announced a State of Emergency in response to the war in Ukraine. Consequently, if you are planning your journey to Lithuania, it is important to check the government’s ‘Safety and Security’ section for more information.

Covid-Related Entry Requirements for British Travellers

Currently, British nationals are not required to prove their vaccination status, recovery from Covid, or show a negative Covid-19 test result upon arrival in Lithuania. This change simplifies travel for those intending to visit this beautiful Baltic country.

Previously, British nationals aged 16 and over needed to present documents affirming one of the following conditions: full vaccination status, evidence of recovery from Covid within the last year, or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before arriving in Lithuania. This regulation was introduced to safeguard public health while facilitating tourism.

The Lithuanian government defines someone as fully vaccinated if they have received both doses of a two-dose vaccination schedule, one dose of a single-dose vaccination, or at least one dose of vaccination after recovering from Covid-19 within the preceding 180 days.

Return Travel to the UK from Lithuania

All Covid travel rules in the UK were lifted as of 4 AM GMT on Friday, 18 March 2022. As a result, no travellers are required to undergo testing, quarantine, or fill in any forms for passenger locator irrespective of their vaccination status. This allows for smoother and more straightforward travel experiences for individuals returning from Lithuania.
