The Allure of Venezuela
Efraín Mogollón’s eponymous brand has helped bring Venezuelan fashion to the world stage. His pieces are unique, voluminous, and feminine, all handmade by a group of 20 artisans in Maracay, utilizing natural fibers and organic cotton.
What Makes Venezuela So Special?
The people are kind, warm, and very hospitable. Culturally oriented towards the Caribbean, Venezuela is a magical land. The diverse geography includes beaches, dunes, deserts, plains, snow, and breathtaking waterfalls, offering endless opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.
Living in Maracay
I reside in Maracay, the capital of Aragua state, located in the central region of Venezuela, nestled at the foot of the coastal mountain range. It is surrounded to the north by some of the country’s best beaches, and it is just 50 minutes from Caracas, the capital.
I cherish my city for the tropical climate. A mere 35-minute drive takes me to the coast, where I can enjoy the Bay of Cata and the town of Ocumare de la Costa. Additionally, 45 minutes will lead me to Playa Big in Choroní.
Scents of Venezuela
The scent of the beach evokes profound childhood memories of the Venezuelan coasts. It stirs emotions and brings me a comforting sense of well-being. Moreover, the aroma of grilled meat paired with a fine rum completes this vivid nostalgia.
Discovering Beyond Tourist Spots
Venezuela is a hidden gem ready for discovery; the possibilities for visitors are nearly endless. From paradisiacal beaches to lush jungles, and cities abundant with history and contemporary architecture from the ’50s, there’s so much waiting to be explored.
As a proud ambassador of Santa Teresa, considered the best rum in the world, I invite everyone visiting Aragua state to experience it firsthand at the Santa Teresa hacienda, founded in 1790.
Los Roques, an archipelago and a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasts more than 300 magnificent islands, making it a must-visit destination in the Caribbean Sea.
