Chinese pianist Lang Lang selected a tune by a celeb who also picked for the playlist: John Legend’s “Made to Love.”
Pop star Cody Simpson is the spokesman for the #HappySoundsLike playlist, to celebrate the U.N.’s International Day of Happiness on Friday, March 20. Simpson, who will perform at the United Nations/MixRadio brunch at SXSW, has “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley as his pick.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon went with Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” for the playlist.
Mr. “Happy” himself Pharrell Williams chose “This Must Be the Place” by Talking Heads.
Angelique Kidjo, who won a Grammy for best world music album in February, selected Miriam Makeba’s “Pata Pata” for the playlist.
Actor Michael Douglas (seen here in his hit 1987 film “Fatal Attraction”) picked “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” by James Baskett.
Britney Spears went with the jaunty “Kiss” by Prince.
