Universal Parks & Resorts has announced an exciting new horror-themed experience set to become a permanent fixture in Las Vegas.

Created by the masterminds behind Halloween Horror Nights, which remains a wildly popular annual Halloween event, this original concept is designed to offer a range of unique, immersive horror-centric experiences. By day, visitors will enjoy high-energy food and beverage spaces, which transform into haunting bars and eateries by night. This innovative approach to themed entertainment aims to captivate audiences throughout the year.

While an opening timeline has yet to be announced, this marks a significant milestone as it will be the first permanent horror experience developed by Universal.

According to concept art released by the company, the new attraction will serve as the anchor tenant of a recently expanded 20-acre portion of Area15. This art and entertainment complex, located just off the Las Vegas Strip, is already home to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, which has attracted over four million visitors since its opening in 2020.

Universal has shared that the new space will feature continuously updated experiences, must-see seasonal events, and exclusive merchandise. Set to encompass 110,000 square feet, this Universal experience promises to complement AREA15’s focus on experiential art and entertainment in a creative and innovative manner.

Renowned for redefining the horror genre, Universal will leverage its extensive catalog of classic horror film franchises and iconic characters, including Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, and the Wolf Man. In addition to this rich legacy, the company plans to collaborate with prominent figures in modern horror and suspense filmmaking, such as Jason Blum, James Wan, and Jordan Peele.

Interestingly, this announcement coincides with Universal Parks and Resorts unveiling a new theme park set to open in Frisco, Texas. This is an exciting time for the company as it prepares to launch Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, anticipated to open on February 17, 2023, alongside the upcoming Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort.
