Discover the Versatile SylvanSport GOAT Pop-Up Camper Trailer

Explore the Versatile GOAT Trailer by iBestTravel

You don’t always need a truck, and some trucks don’t always have a big enough cargo bed; however, that’s why we have the ability to hitch a trailer. The folks at iBestTravel have improved on the standard trailer concept with the new, collapsible, three-mode pop-up camper trailer. It’s aptly named the GOAT, enhancing the original GO trailer with all-terrain capability.

Design and Features of the GOAT Trailer

The GOAT is specifically engineered for overlanding adventures. It boasts an:

  • Axle-less suspension system
  • 18 inches of ground clearance
  • 42-degree departure angle
  • All-terrain tires

Moreover, the frame is constructed from extruded aluminum and TIG welded in a North Carolina shop. An optional articulated off-road trailer hitch attachment is also available for those eager to go off the beaten path.

Durability and Storage

The cargo area, fenders, and step are crafted from polycarbonate, similar to materials used in whitewater kayaks, providing exceptional durability. The separated front storage box behind the hitch offers:

  • 9 cubic feet of waterproof, lockable space

Aluminum side panels allow for additional gear to be mounted, enhancing the trailer’s functionality.

Compact and Expandable Design

When collapsed, the GOAT features a rack system on its roof, capable of holding up to 200 pounds. Furthermore, it is compatible with equipment racks for bikes or kayaks, as well as additional rooftop storage boxes. In its compact form, the trailer has a cargo box that measures:

  • 7 feet long
  • 4 feet wide
  • 17 inches tall

Overall dimensions are 75.5 inches wide and 158 inches long, with a 950-pound capacity. With the top popped and folding side panels in place, the vertical space raised in the box reaches 4 feet, allowing the trailer to haul items like dirtbikes comfortably.

Camper Setup

The top elevates further into a locked position for camper mode. This trailer includes a full four-person waterproof sleeper tent, ingeniously housed in the trailer’s “roof” pod. To set up, elevate the roof to the highest locked position, and then open the bottom of the roof pod to extend the tent panels. Setup is reported to take as little as 10 minutes, and anyone over 6 feet tall should be comfortable standing indoors.

The camper mode features an interior table that folds down, with a second panel available to create a wider sleeping area.
