Experience the First Vertical Theme Park Featuring ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘Twilight’

Lionsgate Movie World: A New Vertical Theme Park in China

Things were simpler in 2012. We didn’t have Laurel or Yanny. The most decisive debate was Team Edward or Team Jacob. However, now the debate is about to be reignited.

The world’s first vertical theme park, Lionsgate Movie World, is set to open in Zhuhai, China this summer. This exciting new attraction will feature thrilling experiences based on the popular franchises “The Hunger Games” and “Twilight.”

What to Expect at Lionsgate Movie World

Lionsgate Movie World will be a remarkable 10-story theme park offering 25 exhilarating rides alongside immersive virtual reality experiences drawn from the Lionsgate Studio universe. Inside the park, visitors can enjoy:

  • A chance to virtually ride a motorcycle, emulating Jacob from “Twilight.”
  • Transformations with hair, makeup, and manicures in The Capitol lobby, inspired by the “Hunger Games.”

Immersive Experiences Tailored for Fans

Jenefer Brown, senior vice president of Global Live and Location Based Entertainment at Lionsgate, stated, “We created experiences that are immersive, that tell stories and are organic to the brands. It’s a mix of all the cutting-edge attractions that you’ll find in entertainment right now.”

For fans of “Twilight,” those who align themselves with Team Edward can take a ride on Bella’s Journey—an indoor attraction showcasing pivotal moments from the series, particularly focusing on Bella’s dynamic relationship with her vampire husband.

Meanwhile, “Hunger Games” enthusiasts can experience The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Flight Rebel Escape. This thrilling 3D motion simulator ride transports fans through the treacherous streets of the Hunger Games universe to a hovercraft soaring above The Capitol. Moreover, themed restaurants within the park will provide guests with a taste of the unique visuals and flavors characteristic of the franchise.

The Ideal Location for a Theme Park

The choice of Zhuhai as the site for this notable theme park is strategic, given its proximity to Macau, often referred to as “China’s Las Vegas.” This location presents an excellent opportunity for visitors seeking an extraordinary entertainment experience.

Anticipated Visitor Numbers

The park is anticipated to welcome approximately 1.5 million visitors by the end of the year following its summer opening. Its unique offerings and connections to familiar pop culture references make Lionsgate Movie World an enticing destination for both locals and tourists alike.
