Introducing the Marsh Tower: A New Landmark in Denmark
A new spiraling tower is set to open this spring, providing visitors with a panoramic view over the Wadden Sea National Park on the west coast of Denmark.
The Marsh (Marsktårn) Tower will rise 25 meters above ground and will feature a unique corkscrewing staircase that culminates high above the expansive tidal flats. Designed by the Bjarke Ingels Group, this impressive structure, currently under construction, will allow visitors to gaze across to Esbjerg and Rømø in optimal weather conditions.
The Marsh Tower will be located next to the new motorhome site, Marsk Camp, which can accommodate up to 125 motorhomes. The facilities include a reception area, café, restaurant, and ice cream café, all constructed using rustic and natural materials that harmonize with the marshland surroundings. Moreover, these spaces are modernly decorated, respecting both aesthetics and architectural origins. Families can enjoy additional amenities, such as a playground and mini-golf course.
Nature lovers will find the Wadden Sea National Park particularly appealing. This park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including mudflats, salt marshes, and an abundance of avian species. Importantly, the Wadden Sea is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its unique geological and ecological significance. It boasts the largest tidal flat system globally, extending along the coasts of Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The Marsh Tower will be accessible to everyone, as visitors can reach the top via elevator. For additional information, prospective visitors can refer to Visit Denmark’s website here.
