New All-Inclusive Waterfront Resort in Cancun Features Stunning Water Park and Lazy Rivers

1. Introduction

Marriott International has announced the opening of a new all-inclusive resort in collaboration with Blue Diamond Resorts: the waterfront Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, located just 35 minutes from the Cancun International Airport.

2. Resort Features

The 1,049-room property, situated just north of Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen, is set to open in late 2022. This resort will boast:

  • 12 restaurants
  • A convention center
  • Multipurpose theater
  • Supervised kids’ club
  • Bowling alley
  • Laser tag
  • Indoor trampoline park
  • Royalton Fit wellness center with fitness classes
  • Royalton Spa featuring hydrotherapy (access available for an additional cost)
  • A water park with 14 slides, two lazy rivers, and splash pads

Royalton Luxury Resort staples will enhance the experience, featuring complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property and the option to upgrade to its Diamond Club for exclusive access to additional dining, pool, and beach amenities.

3. Integration into the Autograph Collection

The new resort will join Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels, contributing to the brand’s growing portfolio of all-inclusives in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Marriott International’s Laurent de Kousemaeker expressed excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to continue working with Blue Diamond Resorts to add another exciting all-inclusive resort to the All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. The Autograph Collection Hotels brand champions individuality with each hotel being a product of passion, making this brand an exceptional fit for this significant project and the other 20 Blue Diamond Resorts that have joined the collection.”

4. Uniqueness and Experiences

According to the release, the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun aims to provide “encapsulating experiences through its distinct personality” while offering “stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.”

5. Marriott’s Expansion in All-Inclusives

Marriott International began its all-inclusive journey in 2019 in Barbados, partnering with seven properties in the Elegant Hotels portfolio. Since then, their all-inclusive offerings have expanded through an agreement with Sunwing Travel Group’s Blue Diamond Resorts in 2021. Consequently, there are now All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy properties in Antigua, Barbados, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, Mexico, and St. Lucia.
