Lion Sightings in Nairobi Debunked
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has reported that claims of two lions being spotted in Nairobi were inaccurate. This clarification comes after an extensive search of the Ngong road forest, the location where a truck driver allegedly sighted the two big cats.
Moreover, this misunderstanding emerged just ten days after at least four lions were rumored to have escaped from the nearby Nairobi National Park. A spokesperson for KWS explained that it is believed all previously unaccounted lions have returned to their habitat. In total, an estimated 30 lions reside within the 117-sq-km park, which marks the southern boundary of Kenya’s capital city.
Consequently, visitors to Nairobi and Nairobi National Park can feel assured regarding wildlife safety as KWS continues to monitor and protect the majestic big cats that inhabit this region.
